Area teens practiced their rodeo skills Friday afternoon in Ray ahead of the Williston High School Rodeo this coming weekend.
About 160 contestants each day will compete for points that could help students earn a trip to Wyoming for the National High School Rodeo early this summer.
Payson Cvancara, 17, of Ray, has been involved in rodeo for 13 years.
Cvancara made nationals while still in junior high and he is hoping to continue on in rodeo through college in either Wyoming or Montana. He’s been training all year for events such as calf roping and team roping, though he said team roping is his favorite.
