A character-building sport that can teach a child to be humble is a key to success, according to Jessica Grove, Grain Palace City Rodeo Association president.
“Those kids cheer for each other even though they are competing against each other, and they always want the other one to do well. Rodeo really helps kids learn how to lose,” said Grove.
She calls rodeo a sport of hard knocks.
The nonprofit rodeo association held its 39th annual rodeo during Ray Grain Palace Days last weekend.
