Candidates in the upcoming Wildrose city election are concerned confusion about the exact number of positions available may be an indication of bigger problems.
“If the city auditor can’t get this right, what else is there that’s not being done right?” Royce Potteiger asked.
Potteiger is a candidate for an unexpired two-year term on the city council. Also up for grabs, are two four-year terms. On Sunday, he and fellow candidates Darcy Hanson, Mason Watterud and Todd Kragness provided documentation showing the final list of candidates released by City Auditor Sophia Reisig at the petition deadline, 4 p.m., April 9, was wrong.
“The two-year term isn’t even on the list,” Hanson said. “When we asked her about it, she (Reisig) said she didn’t know anything about it.”
