Students from Central Elementary and Tioga High School were treated Thursday to the old American Dixie Jazz tradition from the North Dakota Army band.
“It’s one of the best ways we bring this uniform and the army image,” said SFC. Kate Naojokas. “It’s a chance to see soldiers up close and personal.”
Naojokas leads the 12 member Flatland Dixie Band, a subset of the larger 38-member 188th Army Band based out of Fargo.
The 188th took a three day tour across the state introducing students to various genre’s of music.
