Building was the theme of Monday night’s Tioga City Commission meeting -- approving building permits for a new community center and an airport terminal, as well as planning for the construction of a new stand-alone police department.
A new museum could also be in the works, but first the old one, located on the southwest corner of Second and Welo, would be torn down.
“There’s been no public input,” said Museum Board Member Ethyl Papineau, yet the board agreed to move forward with the city’s vision. “We don’t want to stand in the way.”
The museum board learned of the plan late Friday, following the city’s decision to pursue a stand-alone police center.
