The second of two Public Service Commission hearings on a proposed Cenex pipeline replacement project was held at Tioga City Hall Tuesday last week.
Commissioners Julie Fedorchak and Brian Kroshus heard arguments from landowners, labor union representatives and Cenex on the new line, which would run from near Williston to Minot.
“We’re trying to find a balance to develop the resources North Dakota has in an orderly way and minimizes the impact on the people in the area,” said Fedorchak. “We know we’re not perfect and it’s not as minimal as we’d like it to be.”
A central issue in the case is a Cenex application to have the state waive many of the preliminary studies in the area.
