With a much-expanded campus and many new families sending students to Tioga’s Central Elementary School, parent Joy Sparks saw a need for a group to better engage people with the school.
“Probably my biggest motivation was seeing all these dynamic parents in the community who weren’t connected to things,” she said.
The result is a group called FATC (Families and Teachers for Central), which is focusing for the next several weeks on Saturday afternoon activities involving parents and students.
It’s called “Family Fun Saturdays” and will run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. most Saturdays from now until mid-March, maybe longer.
