This year should see an increase in energy activity in Williams and Burke counties, according to Lynn Helms, Director of the State Department of Mineral Resources.
“I predict more activity up there as producers drill less in the core area of the Bakken,” Helms said. “The permitting office is very busy.”
Interest is particulary good in northeastern Williams County and southwestern Burke County.
That permitting, he added, should factor into more production later this year. In fact, Helms predicts 2018 will set new records for production.
