The Tioga Police Department could be one step closer to a new building with the presentation of a memorandum of understanding at last week’s Tioga City Commission meeting.
The city last week passed a motion earmarking $2 million in existing funds for the creation of a new museum space, in exchange for which they would obtain a quit claim on the current museum property.
Although the historical society proposed several changes to the agreement, two main issues were discussed prior to the city’s action.
They requested a change in wording about the reason for the sale of the property, disliking a statement about the property being in a state of disrepair.
