The Divide County volleyball team won three of six matches and finished fourth out of eight teams Saturday at a tournament in Washburn.
In pool play, the Maroons defeated Standing Rock 25-12, 25-14 and the host Cardinals 25-10, 19-25, while Sawyer beat them 25-17, 23-25.
Advancing into the tournament round, the Maroons won 2-0 in their first match, against Garrison-Max, before bowing out with two consecutive losses: 25-15, 25-17 to the eventual tournament champion, Shiloh Christian; and another 2-0 sweep at the hands of Sawyer in the fifth-place match.
DC sweeps way to win
The Maroons swept Burke County on Thursday night, their second win against the Titans this season.
Alli McCoy led the team in kills with 10, and added three blocks. Sierra Grote finished with the team high in assists, at eight, and aces, at five. Makenzie Olson led the team with 10 digs.
Divide County will now turn its focus to Tioga. First serve for the match with be 7 p.m. Thursday in Tioga.
The Maroons then have the Northwest Conference tournament Saturday in Glenburn and play Tuesday in New Town.
