Maroons collect all-region honors in football; McCoy is all-district

The Divide County football team has seven players on this year’s all-Region 6 team.
Seniors Tyler Harward, Keaton Oien and Ryder Beauclair and sophomores Aidan Eriksmoen and Taylor Landsverk earned first-team honors.
Harward, Oien and Beauclair were part of the Maroons’ offensive line this year, respectively playing center, guard and end.
On defense, Beauclair added 13 tackles, two for a loss, with three sacks and 10 assists. Oien had 12 tackles, one for a loss, with two sacks and two assists. Harward had 11 tackles, one for a loss, and three assists.
Eriksmoen was the Maroons’ leading rusher, with 794 yards and seven touchdowns on 146 carries. He added 222 yards as quarterback and 193 yards on kick returns. Defensively, he had 55 tackles, three for a loss, with 14 assists, a sack and two interceptions.
Landsverk totaled 717 rushing yards on 109 carries, and 135 receiving yards on 10 catches, with two touchdowns. He also had 80 kick-return yards. He made 17 tackles with seven assists, two pass deflections and two interceptions.
Sophomores Noah Lorentz and Tyler Deering were all-region honorable mentions.
Lorentz rushed for 315 yards and three touchdowns on 33 carries and also caught five passes for 36 yards. His defensive numbers included 51 tackles, 22 assists, six tackles for loss, two sacks, a pass deflection and a forced fumble.
Deering scored four touchdowns and finished with 216 rushing yards on 34 carries and 57 receiving yards from five catches. On defense, he added 34 tackles (six for a loss), 14 assists, two sacks, a pass deflection and an interception.
The region’s senior athlete of the year was Kyler Melby from Kenmare-Burke County, and the coach of the year was Cale Peterson of region-champion Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood.
DC’s seven all-region players is one fewer than MLS and equal with Kenmare and Tioga.
All-district volleyball
This year’s all-District 16 volleyball team includes one player each from the Divide County Maroons and Burke County Titans.
Alli McCoy, Divide County sophomore middle hitter, had 173 kills, five assists, 90 digs, 83 blocks and 53 aces for the Maroons.
Heidi Knutson, Burke County senior, had 52 aces, 52 kills and 144 digs.
The other all-district selections were: McKayla Neubauer and Kylee Nelson, Kenmare; Kinzi Grubb, Kylie Gunderson and Sadie Maruskie, Powers Lake; Hayden Slikker, Marissa Veach and Maari Dolan, Ray; and Lacey Meiers and Savanah Meyer, Stanley.
