The sounds of young hockey players both hard at work and having fun echoed through Andrist Arena as they took direction from Williston State College hockey coach John Bowkus on Thursday.
Bowkus, assistant coach Nick Zern and some of their Teton players led approximately 30 kids from ages 6 to 18 at the second annual Superior Skills Hockey School, a weeklong instructional clinic.
Bowkus said he was glad to see that youth from Divide County, Williston and even Saskatchewan took up the chance to put in some training time during the offseason.
“First of all, it gets them back on the ice a little bit,” Bowkus said. “A lot of these kids haven’t skated in a while.”
