New security camera systems that went live last week at the Divide County school buildings require visitors to buzz in before entering during school hours.
The video surveillance system outside the front door at both the elementary and high school has a call button, camera, speaker and microphone that allows the main office to communicate with visitors prior to granting entry.
“If we know you, you’ll get right in,” High School Principal Nick Ator said Tuesday last week during the school board’s monthly meeting. “If we don’t know you, we’ll ask: Who are
you, what’s your business?”
