A proposal to combine the offices of Divide County Auditor and Treasurer will move to a final resolution this week.
About a dozen county employees turned out Monday last week for a required hearing on the matter. Though some asked questions about how the combination will work, no one testified against the move and no members of the public attended.
The hearing was called as part of the process to effect the change, following the announcement earlier this year that current treasurer, Sheila Haugland, will be stepping down.
“I didn’t realize until Sheila came in that it wasn’t a full-time job,” said Commission Chairman Tim Selle.
