The sights, sounds and orange cones of progress are hard to miss in Crosby.
Contractors working on an NCC Fiber to the Home project intensified their work last week, preparing homes and businesses for the next stage of NCC’s upgrade to fiber optic service.
Fiber optic cable, designed to handle much more data than traditional telephone wire or coaxial television cable, will allow NCC to offer faster internet and better high definition television.
To do that, contractors are boring holes underneath alleys, installing a plastic liner. Later, the fiber cable will be run to homes and businesses through the liner.
