Divide County Ambulance District Board Member Cody Barnhart made one thing very clear at last week’s board meeting.
“The hospital does not want to take over the ambulance service,” Barnhart told a crowd of nearly two dozen interested observers attending the meeting.
Barnhart, who is also the CEO at St. Luke’s Medical Center, and the rest of the ambulance board met to discuss emergency medical services in Divide County following the departure of Ambulance Resources on April 30.
Prior to the district’s annual meeting two weeks ago, Ambulance Resources owner Ken Rensch informed the board he intends to terminate the contract providing paramedic and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) staffing to the ambulance district.
