Helen Seibel, 90, Ross passed away Friday, March 25, 2022, at Mountrail Bethel Nursing Home, Stanley.

Helen’s memorial service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Ross. Pastor Rebecca Manglesdorf will officiate. Inurnment will be Rosehill Cemetery, Ross. Visitation will be held at Springan Stevenson Funeral Home Chapel, Stanley, Friday, April 8, 2022, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a family and friends service 6 p.m.

Helene Katherina Eleonore Seibel was born June 17, 1931, in Frankfurt, Germany, to Wilhelm and Helene Schneider. She was the fourth generation to carry on the name “Helene Katherina Eleonore”. Helen saw many things growing up in Germany. As a young girl she was quite the swimmer and was in the Junior Olympics. Helen even had to shake hands with Hitler. At the age of four she got to see the maiden voyage of the Hindenburg. Unfortunately, Helen had family and friends in the Holocaust.

She met Eddie Seibel when he was stationed in Germany. They were married on October 8, 1947, in Frankfurt, Germany. While living their stay in Germany they had two children, Eddie Jr. and Dolores. Eddie Victor Jr. was born in 1948 but sadly passed away four days after his birth. Dolores was born October 1949. In December 1949 the family moved back to the United States, and settled in Velva. In 1955, Helene got her citizenship to the United States of America. The family moved a few more times before they made Ross, their home in 1957. Together Eddie and Helen added four more children to the family, Diane, Robert, Jack, and Jim. They all lived and worked in the Ross area, and in 1972 the family corporation “Seibel & Son’s” was started.

Helene was very proud of her family. She was quite a knitter, and was an active bowler in Stanley, for many years. She was a member of the ladies’ aid for the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, and worked alongside Eddie and the boys for many years.

Helene is survived by daughters; Dolores (Glenn) Lee, Blaisdell and Diane Seibel (Companion Robert Wirtz), Ross; sons, Jack (Connie) Seibel, Minot, and Jim Seibel, Ross; sister-in-law, Sharon Churchill, Kansas; niece, Monika Reis, Germany; nephew, Jurgen Reis, Germany; and many other nieces and nephews; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Proceeding Helene in death was husband, Eddie; sons, Eddie Jr. and Robert Seibel; mother and father, Wilhelm and Helene Schneider; sister and brothers-in-law, Irene and Willy Ries.
