Williams County senior Atati Mita finished in fourth place in the boys’ discus with a throw of 143-2 at the NDHSAA Class B Track and Field State Meet on Saturday in Bismarck.
He also finished 12th in the javelin with a throw of 148-4 and 14th in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 43.28 seconds.
Mita scored the lone points for the Firestorm at the meet; the New Town boys and Hazen girls won the team titles.
Fellow senior Patrick Frise had a personal record in the boys’ 3,200-meter run, finishing 13th with a time of 10:24.49.
Freshman Ilise Jennings was 16th in the girls’ 100-meter dash with a time of 13.28, and junior Maari Dolan was 18th in the girls’ javelin with a throw of 94-6.
The girls’ 4x400-meter relay team of Jennings, senior Allison Ziebarth, junior Destiny Laveau and sophomore Abby Larson was 19th with a time of 4 minutes, 30.03 seconds, their best of the season.
