Discussion by the Tioga City Commission last week about the potential for future water rate increases shows a growing unease with the amount of debt the Western Area Water Supply Authority is taking on.
“When does it come to the point where enough is enough?” is how Tioga Mayor Drake McClelland phrased it to fellow commissioners.
McClelland posed the question following a report by Commissioner John Grubb on expected rate increases being passed to the city by supplier R&T.
“Being that we are part of that association, it sort of rolls downhill,” said Grubb.
