Tioga RV Park owners want a better Conditional Use Permit (CUP) process in place -- one that is permanent.
Members of the city zoning board and city commissioners also want to move away from yearly CUP renewals for the parks, based on discussions at meetings of both bodies, held Monday last week.
“We’ve struggled with these conditional use permits for a long time,” said Don Zacharias, zoning board member. “If there’s no infraction, why make these people come in?”
Tioga currently requires park owners to re-apply for permits each year. Most of the parks came into service during the early days of the oil boom and were seen by some as only a temporary housing solution.
