Fireworks or no fireworks, Tioga will be coming out to celebrate the Fourth of July this weekend during the annual Freedom Fest.
If the fire danger pushes any higher, Williams County will automatically issue a burn ban and that could preclude the show planned by Tioga firemen on Tuesday, July 4.
Professional fireworks shows are not affected provided they have the proper insurance, but individual homeowners and privately run shows will face fines up to $1,500 or a month in jail if a violation of the ban takes place.
As of press time, Tioga Fire Chief Nathan Germundson said the show is still on, but that could change depending on whether a county burn ban is triggered.
