More eating choices have come to Tioga.
DJs Lounge has expanded its kitchen and dining room to create a whole new family restaurant.
Starting Monday, they began serving lunch and dinner. They are also serving breakfast on the weekends, with plans to expand service to weekdays once more staff is hired.
Emily Pressnall is one cook and they are looking for more kitchen staff.
Heather Novak, who has managed DJs for a decade, said they noticed a demand for this kind of restaurant from people coming in.
While the establishment had basic bar food, like pizzas, there wasn’t much more to their offerings. And more than that, these customers were looking for more of a sit-down restaurant where they could take kids.
“We wanted to give families more options,” Novak said.
The new restaurant is separated from the bar by screened windows.
“We want people to feel more comfortable bringing their kids in,” Novak said.
The restaurant will have a full menu of appetizers, burgers, and sandwiches. Their breakfast menu is one of the most extensive in town.
Despite the selection, Novak said they are starting pretty basic but will expand it with new items and specials over time as they work out the initial kinks that happen with any big opening.
This week, the restaurant will open at 11 a.m. on weekdays and 6 a.m. on weekends, until they open for breakfast all week.
