Gov. Burgum delivered his first State of the State address last week, and District 2 legislators said they are prepared to work with the conservative fiscal approach the governor outlined in his address.
In the address, Burgum said the state’s revenue challenge presents an opportunity to reinvent state government and embrace technology to hold down costs, while growing the economy.
Burgum said former Gov. Dalrymple’s budget laid out last month, which reduced spending by $1.2 billion, was a “great start,” but the state must “dig deeper” to meet the challenges of falling revenues.
