The Sundhagen family is waiting to see how much damage was done to its crop fields north of Tioga last week after a salt water disposal line burst beneath its property.
“This is why landowners don’t like the lines,” said Tim Sundhagen. “By the time you realize it is a problem it can be too late.”
The initial report filed with the North Dakota Department of Health stated about 50 barrels (2,100 gallons) of saline water escaped the line next to the Enduro Skarderud 32-7 oil well.
Sundhagen said he believes the amount of wastewater to be much higher than reported.
