Western Cooperative Credit Union, based out of Williston, will be opening a new branch in Tioga.
The new branch will be located in the old business center of the Pinnacle Travel Center.
CEO and President of Western Cooperative Melanie Stillwell said while they are hopeful that the branch will be open by the end of 2016, that will depend on how long design and construction on the branch will take.
“We are excited to become a part of the Tioga community and look forward to working with the people in that area,” Stillwell said.
The full-service branch will offer savings and checking accounts, along with mortgages and agricultural and consumer loans.
Western Cooperative has been considering opening a Tioga branch for years, Stillwell said, and many people in the area are already Western Cooperative members. When the opportunity to house the branch at the Pinnacle opened up, Stillwell said it seemed like a good fit.
Pinnacle Operations Manager Todd Busche said the store was approached a couple of months ago about the possibility of the new branch being housed there.
“I think that it’s a well-known branch in the area and it will be really good for everyone in the community,” Busche said. “I know a lot of people are really excited about it. I think it will be a really good addition to everything we already offer here.”
Western Cooperative has been in northwestern North Dakota for over 78 years. In addition to the upcoming Tioga branch, Western Cooperative Credit Union has eight other branches located in Dickinson, Hebron, Beach, Glen Ullin and Ray.
