The Bank of Tioga held an open house last week to display to the public the renovated branch.
Bank representatives provided tours of the new facility, which included improved technologies, more secure offices, and a modernized look to its main lobby.
The previous branch was all wood.
Diane Skjervem, branch concierge, said the wooden style of the old lobby didn’t look particularly bad but it wasn’t very modern.
“It was dated,” she said.
Some of the offices were pared down to make room for another lane in the drive-through, where the bank installed a video ATM.
Employees expressed a lot of relief the work is done.
After a year-long period, which included dislodging a multi-ton vault with jackhammers so it could be moved, the inconveniences are finally over.
Malonie Jorstad, operations specialist, described the year as “dusty, dirty, and loud.”
While the renovations were a challenge, the employees had a lot of good things to say about the results.
The bank’s updated systems are making it a lot easier for them to do their jobs.
“Everything works so much better,” said Judy Heilman, operations specialist.
