Maroons place 18th at state golf championship

The Divide County high school boys’ golf team wrapped up its 2016 season by placing 18th at the state Class B tournament Tuesday and Wednesday last week in Jamestown.
Sophomore Taylor Landsverk led the Maroons individually, posting a 56-over-par 200 for his two-round total to tie for 93rd.
Junior Seth Haugland was 117th with a 241, followed by freshman Sam Johnson’s 258 (120th) and junior Jarod Jeglum’s 279 (122nd).
Hillsboro-Central Valley’s Jake Preston shot an even 72 on Tuesday on his way to clinching the individual championship with a 5-over-par 149. Kindred was the team champion.
