Crosby’s American Legion baseball team is looking for more players to reinforce the roster after three of its members decided not to play, leaving them with 11.
“The team is in dire straits right now,” coach Monte Ellingson said.
The team is open to ages 13-18. Ellingson said the team is skewing young this year, but of particular concern is that only three players have pitching experience, leaving him scrambling to train others.
“That is not enough when we play four to six games every week,” Ellingson said. “We have to find a couple of others who can get the ball over the plate.”
Ellingson said he may have to reschedule some games to make sure he has at least nine players available for them all. He already moved yesterday’s scheduled season opener at Hazen to today.
Anyone interested in joining the team can contact Ellingson at 701-641-8475.
