The Divide County boys’ golf team finished fifth under rainy conditions at the Northwest Conference Meet on May 10 in Crosby.
Led by an 88 from eighth-grader Isaac Ellingson, DC ended the tournament with a 393 on its home course. Stanley won the event with a score of 319.
Seth Haugland carded a 95, followed by Taylor Landsverk at 96, Sam Johnson at 114 and Jarod Jeglum at 121.
Freshman Sharaden DeJardine and sophomore Madison Vigness respectively scored 105 and 106 at the girls’ NWC meet in Burlington.
Divide County will be back in Crosby and Burlington on Friday for the region boys’ and girls’ meets.
Ellingson also led the Maroon boys in recent meets with scores of 92 on May 2 in Burlington and 86 on May 5 in Tioga. Haugland was next behind Ellingson, finishing at 91 in Tioga and 106 in Burlington.
He was third in the NWC junior high boys’ meet May 6 in Kenmare with an 85; Grant Kocher shot a 128, and Jacob Jeglum a 135.
DeJardine led the DC girls on April 28 in Stanley with a 108, and Vigness scored a 108 of her own May 3 in Watford City.
