A new day and new activities for children, Crosby Area Chamber members are hoping, will make this Saturday’s Light Up Night and Christmas Stroll more enjoyable than ever before.
“If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work,” said Brittany Sparks, retail committee chair for the chamber.
Though Sparks said she knows the move from the Friday after Thanksgiving to the Saturday after Thanksgiving has not been universally positive, she’s hoping it will work better for the growing number of young families in Divide County.
“That is one of the main reasons we switched to Saturday,” she said, because working parents were hard-pressed to get off work and do any shopping or strolling between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
