Rollover is costly, but driver safe

By Cecile Krimm
A Divide County tractor pulling a mower deck rolled Monday afternoon last week.
The driver, Quin Ellison, was ejected from the cab but not seriously injured, according to Bryan Haugenoe, county road superintendent.
“He’s a lucky individual,” said Haugenoe, to have landed clear of the equipment, which appears to have flipped over the top of him.
Haugenoe said the accident occurred on Co. Road 17, about 8 miles south of ND 5.
“He was mowing the road ditch and it got too steep,” said Haugenoe and Ellison’s efforts to correct the situation were unsuccessful.
The tractor is valued at approximately $150,000 and the mower attachment, perhaps $30,000, but Haugenoe said it has yet to be determined what can be salvaged. He said the mower deck is probably totaled.
