“Upfront customer service” isn’t about putting on a show on your sales floor or restaurant dining room, said Joy Sparks, facilitator of a customer service talk for business owners held Thursday in Crosby.
“Upfront,” in many cases, she said, is the word of mouth customers have about your business before actually doing business with you.
Maybe, said Sparks, it’s a plumber who recommends the purchase of a new water heater at the local hardware store instead of from a big box store.
“This kind of customer service started long before I got here or had flames coming out of my water heater,” said Sparks, who used a true story from her own life in Tioga to illustrate her point.
