Threshing Show volunteers with reservations to stay at the Golden Hub last week received notice they need to seek lodging elsewhere.
“As of now, the owner has decided to keep it closed and mothball it for now,” said Manager Clare Sarasin.
The motel shut down last month pending debris cleanup from the Mr. K’s fire, but Sarasin said business is too slow to keep on staff for a month while awaiting a single weekend of business.
With Crosby’s Guardian Inn also full at that time, guests were directed to try finding lodging in Noonan, and points further away.
Sarasin said the business is not listed, but it is for sale. She will remain on site as a caretaker.
