The public is invited to hear an update on the Crosby Kids Daycare building project at a meeting Tuesday.
By then, said Building Committee member Traci Lund, the old Crosby Lanes quonset may well be dust.
Lund said Thursday the group just has to wait for a 10 day clearance period to pass before knocking down the existing structure.
“The asbestos is all removed and the clean air report has come back and we’re all good to go,” she said.
Dale Cich, the same contractor who recently did work for the county at the old Fortuna radar base, has been hired for the building removal, which is expected to occur later this week.
“That’s our plan, to have it down by the end of January,” said Lund.
It’s a milestone that’s been long-anticipated, said Lund, and shows the public things are moving forward.
The meeting is set for 5:30 p.m., Jan. 26, at the Crosby Kids Daycare Center.
