Crosby City Council members agreed to move forward last week with a remodel of City Hall, reviewing an initial drawing and preliminary budget of $788,000.
“Hopefully this is the highest number you ever see,” said Councilman Steve Dhuyvetter. “When you don’t know exactly what you’re going to do yet, everything is set for worst case scenario.”
Council members stated their intention of signing a Construction Manager at Risk contract with Shingobee Builders. Shingobee is the Minnesota firm that headed the St. Luke’s Medical Center addition, among other local projects.
Dhuyvetter said a building committee, including himself and Brian Lund, met with two firms answering an advertisement for a Request for Qualifications -- Shingobee and Graham Construction, a firm that just completed a rehab of a building for Tioga’s City Hall.
