Taking the advice of County Attorney Seymour Jordan, Divide County commissioners voted to rescind a contract with Valley Med Flight of Grand Forks.
“They had to,” Jordan said. “The legislature changed the law.”
The contract, originating in 2015, called for Divide County to pay Valley Med Flight $12,500 per year. That amount was figured at $5 for all 2,500 residents.
Under the agreement, Valley Med Flight would transport patients from St. Luke’s Hospital in Crosby to facilities in Minot, Bismarck, and perhaps even further, at a cost equal to reimbursements from Blue Cross/Blue Shield (BC/BS) insurance.
