If you enjoyed the food at the St. Luke’s Community Foundation gala this past Saturday night, thank Geralyn Johnson.
“We plan the menu around what I can cook,” she said. “I’m not a chef, but I used to cater weddings, so I’ve done this kind of thing before.”
Johnson is a registered nurse who also manages Northern Lights Villa in Crosby. The Villa, a division of the St. Luke’s Community Foundation, gets one third of the profits from the gala, with the medical center and nursing home also sharing in the proceeds.
Last weekend’s event was the fifth year Johnson has combined her cooking skills with her other duties.
