Its official name is the “Sober Bus.” Increasingly, it’s the mode of transportation people are calling in Divide County when they want to party.
“Everybody calls it the ‘party bus,’” even though it’s not the type of party bus found in many larger cities, said Ilah Wolter, driver.
While a lot of actual partying occurs on a big city party bus, the bus Wolter drives as a fundraiser for Prairie Tumbleweeds is more squarely aimed at getting people to and from parties -- whether at a bar, special event or community celebration.
Wolter began offering the rides during Crosby’s 2017 Celebration last August, at the suggestion of Crosby Park Director Brock Harward, who figured lots of people would use the service to travel between downtown bars and the community center.
