The roots of Journal Publishing reach back to 1907, when Calvin Andrist became a printer’s devil in Kermit, N.D., now a ghost town. Today the company publishes two community newspapers. The Journal in Crosby and The Tioga Tribune are both located in the northwestern corner of North Dakota, where wheat, cattle and oil provide the economic lifeblood.
